HANG - Definitions and Example Sentences
Hang around - to move or to do something slowly
Ex) Don’t hang around, you have a train to catch!
Hang on - to wait for a short time
Ex) Hang ona minute, I’m just coming.
Hang out - to spend a lot of time in a place
Ex) We will spend the whole day hanging out by the pool.
Hang about - to loiter(stand or wait around without apparent purpose)
Ex) Come on, we haven’t got time to hang about!
Hang together - to stick together
Ex) If you all hang together, you’ll succeed in your plan.
Hang over - to hover over
Ex) The clouds of war will hang over the east.
Hang up - to end a phone conversation
Ex) Please hang up the phone.
Hang back - to be reluctant to carry on
Ex) There’s no need to hang back we can sing as well as anyone.
Hang on to - to continue something making an effort to do this
Ex) I’ll hang on to the documents for a bit longer.
